Southern Sydney Track Ultra 2027

Welcome to the 7th running of the Southern Sydney Track Ultra, proudly presented by Ultra Running NSW.

The 2027 event will be a significant milestone, with both the 24 Hour and 48 Hour Australian National Track Championships being hosted as part of the one event for the first time.

The Southern Sydney Track Ultra will return on the first weekend of July 2027 at the Campbelltown Athletics Centre in Leumeah, south-west of Sydney. The venue offers an outstanding range of facilities, all conveniently located within close proximity to the track.

2027 Race Program

The 2027 event will feature an exciting line up of races across three days, catering for athletes across a wide range of distances and durations.

The program will include:

48 Hour
24 Hour
12 Hour
6 Hour
3 Hour
1 Hour

Both the 24 Hour and 48 Hour events will serve as the host races for the 2027 Australian National Track Championships.

The event will feature a total of 10 races across the three days, with running events ranging from 48 hours down to 1 hour, and race walking events ranging from 48 hours down to 6 hours.

Australian National Track Championships

With the return of both the 24 Hour and 48 Hour events and the honour of hosting the 2027 Australian National Track Championships, the event will have a strong focus on national-level competition.

As a result, there will unfortunately be no evening marathon event in 2027.

IAU Bronze Labelled and Sanctioned Event

The Campbelltown Athletics Centre has also undergone a major upgrade, with an all-new synthetic track surface installed and the track re-measured during the 2024/25 summer period.

The Southern Sydney Track Ultra is an IAU Bronze Labelled and Sanctioned event, providing athletes with an officially measured and sanctioned course suitable for those looking to achieve qualifying standards, personal bests or record performances.

Running and Race Walking

The 2027 program will offer an extensive range of opportunities for both runners and race walkers.

The line up will include 48 Hour, 24 Hour, 12 Hour and 6 Hour events for both running and race walking, alongside the 3 Hour running event and the introduction of a 1 Hour race to the program.

With distances and durations ranging from one hour through to 48 hours, the Southern Sydney Track Ultra 2027 promises to provide an exciting and inclusive weekend of track ultra running and race walking for athletes of all levels.
